Why was Mr. SandwichMan’s daughter invited in the European Parliament to begin with?
Russian oppositionists are dictators who have no power. The fact that Putin killed one of them does not mean that this someone was better than Putin. Pretending that it is not so pure stupidity.

Always weirded me out how Navalny’s wife and now daughter so seamlessly slid into leading this part of the Russian opposition. Is this an opposition movement or an aristocratic dynasty? Surely, an actually existing opposition movement would survive without the name Navalny having to be waved around after the actually related Navalny has died.

Let us not forget, that Navalny supported invasion of Crimea. He was no saint, he was just the lesser evil in Russia.
But, this is all to be expected from European PArliament, since it’s infested with failed politicians from all parts of europe, who were more or less thrown out of their countries and placed into Strasbourg, just so they dont do more damage back home. The collective IQ in there probably doesnt even exceed today’s outside temperature in Brussels

So is her supposed insincerity based on anything concrete?

Why are Russians even allowed to speak in the EU Parliament????????? There are no “moderate” Russians, they simply want to replace Putin. Navalny was as imperialistic as Putin.

Was it tactless to invite a Russian speaker for an event with a Ukrainian delegation? Absolutely.
But there’s no reason for nonsense like “no better than Putin”, “imperialistic” etc. Just haters perpetually citing the same quotes from 200x.

…WHY!?
Is the EU really so gullible and delusional that they think these people stand for the same values and principles that the EU does? Or are they so dumb and hopeful that these people can help bring down Putin? I just don’t get what the hell the EU is doing. Have we immediately made the mistake of blindly accepting these people and assuming they stand for “democratic values”? Just because they oppose Putin?

That might have gone over the heads of the Ukrainian representatives. Not sure how it could though, considering Russia imprisoned and killed Navalny.

Navalny about Crimea:
“Crimea will remain part of Russia and will never become part of Ukraine in the near future,”
“Is Crimea like a sandwich with sausage that you can flip back and forth?”
He said that Crimea would never be returned to Ukraine if he had become President.
He did change his tune after he survived assassination and went to prison but at the end of the day he was still a Russian imperialist and branded the war a “mistake” and glossed over that it was Russians that committed war crimes in Bucha and elsewhere and trying to claim victimhood for those self-same Russians as they were victims of Putin…

There is nothing inherently wrong with inviting a Russian speaker to such an event, and storming out of a speech by Russian speakers, regardless of the content of the speech or the beliefs of the individual, could be ludicrous. If there is a genuine pro-democracy Russian speaker who condemns the violence against Ukraine, to provide a hypothetical example, then that speaker should be permitted to speak. It is important that Russians know there is an alternative and that Russians are making the argument for an alternative, democratic, hopefully liberal Russia that can peacefully co-exist with its neighbours.
I am not suggesting that Ms Navalnaya is that speaker, I do not know, but if she were, then her attendance is perfectly concordant with such an event.

Those supporting Navalny should learn his role in weakening early anti-putin’s protests in early 10x – poo might keep the throne due to his passiveness. Not mentioning his family members zero anti-imperial political activity and weight.

navalny was not different in approach to Ukraine than putin. If you have listened to him it would be clear, no wonder why they got mad. There are plenty good russians but he was not one of them even if EU thinks so.
