Sono solo un fan dell’MMA e un grande fan di entrambi questi combattenti georgiani, quindi mi piacerebbe sentire di più dai loro connazionali di casa. Non riesco a immaginare quanto debba essere bello farli catturare i riflettori di recente!

Long story short, we love them. Generally anyone who succeeds in sports is hugely loved in this country. I personally and lots of other people I’ve seen are as much happy about their success as if we ourselves or our family member achieved such things. So yeah, it feels great to see people from your homeland make you proud in front of the world.
We love them both. They are very different characters for sure. For me the most relatable is Ilia’s older brother Aleksandre (similar personality traits). But we love them all the same.
I think people just love both equally.
I personally respect Ilia a bit more. He used huge platforms he has to address political issues Georgia is facing, despite the fact that he hasn’t lived here for so long. He could have easily ignored his heritage but he didn’t. Merab has been quiet recently and I found that kinda sad. But I still respect him ofc, he achieved all this starting from literally 0 and that’s amazing.
Those 2 and Kvaratskhelia are the holy trinity in Georgia atm
