Good. About time we supported our bankers and attracted top talent.

It has been gone in Bank of Ireland for some time sure. So it was already scrapped when they were no longer government owned. I think its fair PTSB is scrapped as it cant try and grow and compete as third bank if at disadvantage to larger two. Will make little or no difference to 99% of those working in the banks.

About time too. That’s 16 years of having to wipe your ass with twenties (like a pleb) instead of fifties.

There are salary levels for various roles – you simply can’t be too out of step with market rates.

How did they ever survive on such pitiful wages? That’s barely enough to buy a new property every year.

Yeah because how could we attract the top banking talent if they could only afford one Lamborghini.

That will definitely increase their productivity at sucking the life out of people and businesses.

I really wish someone would start a bank where the maximum salary is €200k and they were actually customer focused.

Well the my cheif executive will be delighted. Cut out overtime due to “Cost cutting”, even though we are out the door busy, fighting with unions over pay increases yet I bet he will have no problem bumping up his pay this year.
      Luigi where are you?
