It took six nations to take one 5.5 foot guy.

Europe would be a much better place if he’d won
ITT: “Invading your neighbours is good, actually.”
Silly sod should have been sent to the middle of the Atlantic the first time round
Good old Arthur needs better recognition for defeating old big head
I remember how Sean Bean helped defeat the French. With a few dozen guys on each side.
Let’s also take a minute to remind everyone that while the French ppl are soooo proud of Bonaparte and tend to glorify him whenever they’re given a chance to, he was responsible for millions of deaths (soldiers and civilians).
The 7 nation army held him back.
There was a patch of the battlefield & they described the casualty rate as a 747 full of people crashing into it every few minutes. If Blucher hadn’t arrived, we were cooked.
Still can’t believe they named such a significant battle after a pop song
What a powerful man Napoleon was, one man against multiple nations and even then they had to make seven coalitions to defeat him. When Multiple nations declare war on you(not your country) it shows just how badass you are. It’s stupid French get shit on for surrendering in Ww2, when statistically France has the highest military victories in Europe
I’m off to take part in the reenactment of the battle next week (28/29th June) as part of the Prussian army, can’t wait! There’s meant to be about 2,000 of us there
Weirdly, Wellington had visited the battle site a year or so beforehand and had commented on his diary about how it would make a good defensive position.
This was at the point where Napoleon was on Elba, so it’s not likely he was expecting to have to fight at this stage. I guess if you are a general, you see battlefields everywhere.
All because of Marshal Ney.
Killed off 1000s of his own cavalry for nothing. Kept charging the cannons, canoneers run to square formations. Horses get bayoneted and shot at. Cavalry runs away. Rince repeat.
Marshal Ney had no plan except to kill himself “heroically”.
Yes it was just those 2, there were no dutch people there at all. Also no soldiers from nassau.
