      Can anyone tell me why the US might get involved?

      From what I’ve seen, Israel is whooping the everloving shite out of Iran. They’ve got total air superiority and are systematically dismantling Irans entire military and civil leadership through the tried and tested method of explosions.

      Israel look to have this “handled”. What does the US have to gain by getting involved at all?

      Is it because he can plant a friendly head of state and milk the country of its resources?

      The US has been itching to hit Iran since Bush, Starmer won’t have any sway over it other than not getting involved. 
      Though we happily help intercept missiles flying toward Isreal so we already are.

      If America strikes Iran some of those strikes will almost certainly come from the Diego Garcia base. Iran will almost launch retaliatory strikes against the Diego Garcia base. And once Iran strike a (nominally) British military base, that will drag Britain into the conflict too.

      Just another wonderful consequence of our government being so obsessed with ensuring America can continue operating from Diego Garcia.
