Why are there so many Mongolians in the Czech Republic?

Hungarian refugees
Imported as cheap labour by oligarchs.
Those are individuals who came with Gengiskhan but their horses died so the had to stay.
I used to work in a factory like 2010ish and about 90% of all workers were Mongolians. We had to employ a guy who was working as a full time translator.
it’s our eastern neighbor
They are mostly work agency employees, not immigrants.
It’s pretty much just a commercial thing.
Before 1989 it was common for students from “friendly” countries to come to study to Czechoslovakia. Mongolia has around 2 mil population, so the % of population who studied in Czechoslovakia and knows some language is somehow huge. Like everyone knew someone who knew some Czech language. And this is why Czechia remained a popular destination for Mongolian workers even today
When I was 16 I had a Mongolian girlfriend. It was a ride.
I would make joke about student exchange for Przewalski horses, but let’s not be cringy. The work Prague Zoo has done with their mongolian counterparts, including high diplomatic circles, was extensive, though.
Same reason why there are so many Vietnamese people in Czechia.
They are here from the period of Golden Horde
It started with the cooperation of communist aligned countries and the relations stayed to this day. Mongolians come to study and work.
Czechia and Czech Republic are both correct. Czechia would be the equivalent to your “Češka” I guess.
No wall to stop then, so they just invade at will
