Hi, I’m from Slovenia. No, it isn’t. It’s a tourist hellhole.

There are about 20 lakes more beautiful than Bled in Slovenia, one of them just down the road (Bohinj lake), not to mention the Seven Lakes Valley near Triglav.

    3. It is full of tourists. Very close to it is the Bohinj lake which is a lot more chill.

Add this to the pile of weekly Lake Bled photos on r/Europe

Ah yes, the weekly Bledposting quota isn’t gonna fulfill by itself.

I have been hiking in Slovenia for the last 25 years. Such a beautiful country and beautiful scenery, nice people. Really love that country. But for the last 10 years so full of tourists. Especially Bled. Also global warming left its marks on the mountains. Waterfalls we used to hike to are now dry in the summer. A few years ago I burst out in tears when seeing my favorite waterfall. Only white dry rocks. It was so saddening

    7. The Bled area and Ljubljana are beautiful. Only went there once for a company trip, would like to back sometime.

It was nice in the 90s, now it’s really becoming a tourist trap.

Certainly not peaceful during tourist season. Which is most of the year.

Lake Bled is not even the “most beautiful and scenic place” in Slovenia. By far. I honestly don’t get the hype.

Well it’s close to the highway – overpriced bled-cakes – pretty view though – a natural stop on way to Croatia or whatever

Looks like Okanagan Lake in British Columbia…is there an Ogopogo in Lake Bled as well?

If you want a big wild lake in Europe, check out Skadar on the Montenegro/Albania border
