Well, that is a pretty dumb thing to do as a foreign student.

If there’s one thing that’ll definitely get you in trouble in Turkiye, it’s disrespecting Ataturk.

    3. Muslim theology students don’t believe in freedom of conscience. Turkish law doesn’t care about freedom of conscience. So IDK…

    4. They must have not gotten the memo.

You can’t disrespect the cult leader inside the cult.

Reminds me of this i saw a while back:

      “Be Turkish leader.

      Be named Ataturk.

This is some Games Workshop level writing, and not in the good way.”

One should probably tell tham that it’s because of that guy that they are allowed to study at all.

Not from Europe or Turkey, just came across this post — The more I learn about him the more impressed I am of him, Mustafa Kemal Pasha is a badass, there is a reason islamic fundamentalists hate him.

It’s only okay to critique Erdogan according to r/europe, arresting women for critiquing Ataturk is okay though

i thought the current ruling party didnt like Ataturk and it is the opposition who have a constant hard on for him?

    10. I know Ataturk has a lot of baggage

but this is one of those cases where you have a group of religious fanatics flipping the bird to the man that created division of church and state in his country

In other words, fuck them bigots

Being so disrespectful for this libertarian, reformist, great leader… It is not wise.

I don’t think I’ll ever understand how you can be a woman and hardcore Islamist at the same time. Is this some kind of Stockholm syndrome?

I spent a good 30 seconds trying to figure out why they’ve got a picture of Zhukov in a turkish school.

    14. No need to investigate. They’re out of the country right now anyway, just don’t let them in when they try to return.

It’s really really sad. The man that modernized turkey and wanted to take it out of the middle ages…

But considering this is probably islamic theology school, why they wouldn’t like him. They probably want a theocracy like Iran. That went well.

These are kids, but their families are just stupid islamists

The funny thing is that that guy is the one giving woman equal rights with man including right to education.

Atatürk is very popular bourgeois symbol of the rising imperialist power of Turkey.

He made modern Turkey, so he is respected a lot. I respect that he modernized education and empowered women, but I condemn the fact he was a bourgeois politician and the genocides he actively supported or conducted.

While national flags are very important symbols too, and I respect them, actually having one too.

    19. lolwut778 on

Do these idiots not realize that they would have been banned from university by the Islamists? They are enjoying higher education because of Ataturk’s legacy of state secularism.

Stupid head covered bitches, showing the middle finger to the guy that enabled them to go and study.
