I really don’t get how anyone is angry at actions to stop Iran having nuclear weapons. Make it make sense.

The Independent? Don’t need to read past the first line

Trying to pretend this reflects badly on Trump, rather than Starmer is mental gymnastics of the highest order.
If the independent hasn’t realised already, our government has been cut out of most major foreign policy decisions involving both the EU and America. It’s almost certainly because of their inability to make a decision. We have a government doomed to reaction, because they cannot take action. No one has time for fence sitters in this day and age.

part of being head diplomat of a whole country is that you got to work with people you don’t like to keep peoples jobs in the UK so they can put food on the table, burning everythig down feels good in the short term but medium and long term, it will not.

I love the way they keep pretending trump is a serious thing

If there’s a full-scale war between american and iran. Are we gonna see another 2001 Tony blair situation. All due respect, I don’t want the U.K. to get involved with the americans. J.D. Vance disrespected our veterans/ soldiers. Keep UK out plz.

Completely torn on my opinion on this action. Trump is a moron, not fit for office and undeniably should be in prison let alone POTUS. Should Iran be allowed to develop nuclear weapons ? absolutely not. Is Israel committing war crimes and threatening world peace ? Yes. What evidence is there that Iran was developing nuclear weapons ? How can Trump make this decision without due process/congress approval etc ?

do the independent think starmer loves trump to bits? labour was actively supporting and communicating with the dems across the lead up to the US election (within legal margins unlike what orange says). no matter what you think about him, i think starmers overall approach to trump has been commendable.

I don’t think Starmer wants us to think the best of Trump, he just wants us to not hate that he has to kowtow to his shenanigans.

The mealy mouthed middle course Starmer seems determined to chart between kowtowing to Trump and helping Europe separate from US hegemony is causing both the Americans to view us with disdain and disgust, and the Europeans to intensely distrust us.
It isolates us from everyone and leaves us with nothing.
He needs to pick a side and soon, and it better not be the side if tango flavoured fascism, but I’m beginning to get a sinking feeling that it will be.

Why is the mainstream media pretending that politics is black and white?
Oh that’s right because in doing so they can paint Starmer on a bad light.

Or maybe, Starmer just has no respect from the current US administration.
It really isn’t surprise that Trump is just completely overlooking the EU and the UK with foreign policy issues.
These are politicians who can’t even fix their own countries issues. JD Vance already has had to speak out against there anti free speech policies.
Lucy Connelly getting less time in prison than literal foreign rapists for a tweet that was up for a few hours.
