Keeping global trade flowing smoothly is in everyone’s interest, East or West.

Well, this is indeed a problem but they couldn’t accept the reality that Israel attacked Iran and said almost with a laugh on their face, Israel has the right to defend themselves and no condemnation whatsoever. Iran can live in poverty, let’s see if we can and if not, today’s Gov. maybe tomorrow not. Corrupt politicians should get a 1 time excuse in case they fail, there should not be a second one.

probably nothing.
Last time the Europe didn’t even ask for US help bombing Houthis in Yemen for attacking ships crossing the strait because Europe found a work around.
I envy Europe leaders man. Yall always do diplomacy and find ways to work around bombing and killing other people.

Operation Praying Mantis II: Electric Boogaloo.
In all seriousness, EU can organize a naval mission to the Strait to keep it open like it did during the Red Sea Crisis. It’s now only a matter of political will.

Today, it’s not just about controlling territories but controlling trade routes. That’s global politics 101.

As often, people here did not read the article. Iran doesn’t have to physically block the Strait with their navy, they can just announce they blocked it and threaten to strike any commercial ships that attempt to cross it with their drones and missiles. That would be enough to discourage those ships from crossing and cause an oil shock and an economic crisis and inflation in Europe.
And there would be little that Europe could do about that short of invading Iran itself, which they have no means to do. Iran is not the Houthis, they are an actual state and therefore way better armed than the Houthis are, and there is a major Iranian port right in the middle of the Strait.
But our politicians seem to have collectively decided that letting Israel keep bombing Iran is more important than our economies. It is somehow justified by Iran nuclear program, which the US and Israel already claim to have destroyed, even though they are actually bombing everything in the country. Netanyahu spent months massacring Gaza inhabitants, Trump spent months insulting Europeans while undermining Ukraine in its war with Russia, and yet the so-called leaders of Europe meekly fell back behind them when they started another war with Iran, like the spineless fools they are.
