The Republican People’s Party called lawyers and local bars to act against the regime. In Ankara, demonstrations will be held in front of the Ministry of Justice.
Lawyers in Istanbul were not allowed to enter the courthouse – hundreds of cops, many riot police buses and armored vehicles armed with machine guns have been rolled. Although the regime has declared the protest ‘illegal’, the Istanbul Bar made it clear that they will march whatsoever.
Another ‘felony’ the lawyers committed includes displaying images, photos and sound of Ekrem İmamoğlu in public. The authorities had released a general memorandum, enforcing bans against certain individuals.
Would be hilarious if all these lawyers walked up to each individual police officer informing them they are getting sued for “obstruction of justice”, serving them court papers and then ask the officer next to them to comply and arrest their colleague.
