    1. If I were the boss of a rival supermarket chain, I’d be introducing remote working policies on head office staff in retaliation.

Not only would you attract talent by doing this, you’d also make people want to shop at your store to spite Morrisons.

      How are Morrison’s doing?

Just… This seems the sort of thing a struggling company would do.

So they’re going from a 37.5 hour 4 and a half day week to a five day week. I don’t see how that improves customer service unless it’s actually about getting some unpaid work out of staff answering phones on their lunch break.

Papering over the cracks to try and make it look like leadership means business.

    5. Three day working weeks are ideal. I’ve tried it all, from 7 days a week of 12 hour shifts, right down do one 90 minute shift per week, and by far, the sweet spot for me is definitely three – eight to twelve hour shift per week, with four days off.

Things went downhill when they changed the Spicy Chicken pasta.

Smacks of middle management golgafrincham b-ark types worried about their jobs if they’ve no one to micromanage in person.

Now they get to sit on a bank of desks in an office while they’re on a Teams calls rather than being at home for them.

This screams Piss off the staff so that a load walk out. This way no redundancies to pay out etc.

    10. My local Morrisons’ chillers don’t work above 25°C and i’ve spent 20 minutes queuing at the kiosk while three managers stood around watching the queue and laughing with each other.

My bare minimum weekly shop is approximately 30% cheaper at Lidl as well.

They’d probably be doing better if they could sell stock all year round and the staff cared about actual service. Efficiency and customer focus seem to be the last thing on their mind as a business.

I moved to the UK 6 years ago. Every supermarket chain got a fair shot at winning me over.

Literally the only chain I actively avoid is Morrisons. Dogshit own brand products, stores are always a mess, fresh fruit tastes like ass.

    12. Ahh another case of move back to the office to shed off staff
