      Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was the target of an assassination plot to be carried out by a Polish military pensioner who had first been recruited by Soviet Russia decades ago, the head of the country’s internal security agency said.

      Lieutenant General Vasyl Malyuk, head of Ukraine’s SBU, detailed the alleged plot in a closed briefing with Ukrainian media.

      Considering how much he travels and participates in public gatherings I am pleasantly surprised Kremlin did not find agents to assassinate him.

      Zelensky would become a martyr and people of Ukraine would fight even harder.

      Them trying to silence him, is because they know he’s stronger than Putin and is actually loved by the people. Something Putin never will. They can never kill Ukraine and the Ukrainian spirit. Slava Ukraini. Always. 🇺🇦💙💛

      What does the Kremlin think will result from Zelensky being assassinated? Do they think if they kill him that Ukraine will just throw their arms up and say “well we tried”, and just surrender?

      Zelensky is incredibly popular, both with Ukrainians and the rest of the world. His assassination would not do Russia any favours, it would just embolden people against them even more than they already are.

      I just looked this up and it’s only fringe news outlets that are not really credible. Newsweek and Kyiv Post. Don’t see anything from BBC/AP/DW/ etc. taking this with a grain of salt.

      Unfortunately the Ukrainians have to worry about assassination attempts all the time. I worked an event last year that Zelenskyy spoke at, and they literally had to assign one of the guys in his security detail to watch the waters we put out on stage to make sure no one put anything in them. I’m sure people have tried just about everything before and they have to be ready for it

      This situation took place in April 2024, when the Polish Internal Security Agency (ABW) arrested a person who was planning an attack. I don’t understand why the SBU is bringing up this story now without providing a date

      I remember that in 2022 Zelensky said something about 30-40 attempts to kill him

      I long to see the day Russia’s current government and system falls apart, about as much as I long to see the day it happens here with all of our corrupt politicians (USA).

      I don’t get why Ukraine hasn’t had a go at taking out Putin yet ? They’ve proven that their intelligence services are on par with Mossad at this point , surely they must be able to get to him?

      These fucking MAGA don’t understand that the Empire of Evil that the old republicans fought so hard to defeat, never died. 

      It just took a step back into the shadows. The KGB became the FSB (that today employs between 50-100 000 people in Russia and abroad). 

      And now we have the perfect Manchurian candidate, agent Krasnov, governing the US, wiping his ass with the constitution. 

      Where is the CIA/FBI and all the people who swore oaths to defend the USA against enemies within and abroad??

      Did they all retire or get fired?

      My God, I would have been such a disgrace to us if this plot suceeded. Anyways, the old truth is confirmed. Once Russia recruits you as their agent, you are forever theirs. Lying dormant to be used at any point of your life, if the if the situation requires it. Looking back at you USA and your Krasnov.

      Plus, I am terrified how many old people might be a dormant or active Russian assets here and I have my suspicions.
