      Fair play to him. These guys have been flying the flag high for Ireland for years and have been brilliant ambassadors for our country in the world stage. Delighted to see him get citizenship.

      Non-judgmental, just curious: weird how he’s been here for 62 years and only got it sorted now. He tours as a band so surely it’d have come up at some point, right?

      this is crazy. he references ireland ‘as showing leadership in the world’ but he could never have voted in any referendums like the gay marriage or abortion one.

      Most critics of U2 really have no idea about their tax affairs, but they do pay their taxes here as residents. U2 Inc is not based here, the band is. Fair play to the Edge.
