I’m Australian living in Dublin, Ive never saved more money and had so much free time doing the exact same job at a comparable salary as back home
This is far too positive for this sub.
That’s the right way to be. Ambition can be useful, but it can also be venomous.
I know I’m probably lucky, but my work life balance is kinda amazing… I’m on the train home right now and sat down getting a little bit of work finished. I’ve to be in the office one day a week. I’m not expected to work late or log in at night. I can take leave whenever I wish. I’m pretty well paid, enough to just about cover the cost of living for me, my wife and three kids. I’ve got lots of time to get involved in things in my community and the act of doing so makes life so much richer.
I could’ve moved to London with my job in my mid 20s and I’m so glad I didn’t.
To each their own, but yeah, I’m happy with life here. I’d love to see if we ramp out house building somehow so that my kids have a hope of having a place to live when they grow up but having visited a lot of countries in my life, I couldn’t see me living anywhere else that scratches so many itches for me.
Life’s ***far*** too short to do it the other way around!
I think it’s a disgra,,,,,,,,, huh?
I was all ready to rant!!!!
Fuck yeah. Work to live is the way to go. Once 5pm comes a knockin, I don’t think about work until 8:50am the next morning.
