Imagine turning around to your coworker in the middle of a project or process and just saying “let’s just go to sleep it’s only work like” nice work if you can get it

Quite the contrast in Gardaí. One group climbing rooftops to catch a criminal, another two falling asleep on a guard post.

I don’t think this fella should have been convicted for escaping custody based on the story though. There was nothing to indicate he was under arrest as opposed to the Gardaí waiting until he was well enough to be arrested. He was getting visitors, had his phone, and could wander around freely.

I never once knew reading that headline where it was going next

Not before stealing the oversized set of keys dangling from the guard’s belt, of course

103 previous convictions at age 30. I’m sure he’s doing a grand job raising his two kids and we won’t be reading about them in the newspapers a few years from now.

    6. A criminal was seriously injured after he plunged from a roof while fleeing gardaí, but managed to escape from hospital when the officers guarding him fell asleep.
Eric Harcourt (30) suffered a fractured skull and was recovering a week later when he ran past the sleeping gardaí on duty and out the front door.
The father-of-two with 103 prior convictions denied escaping lawful custody, claiming he did not realise he was under arrest, despite having two gardaí posted outside his hospital room “day and night”.
Judge John Hughes found him guilty and jailed him for nine months, remarking that his ability to jog to freedom despite his injuries spoke to the “very fine” medical treatment he had got.

Good thing he landed on his head, he might have done some serious damage to himself.

No doubt assisted by a friendly jack Russell that unhooked the keys from
the Gardas straining belt & carried them to the diddler on the roof, who rewarded the dog with a big juicy bone he just happened to have in his pocket, then the dog put on a gown & a mask & wheeled your man to freedom in a wheelchair. My neighbours cousin is engaged to a nurses sister,
