I did always think it was a bit mental that there’s so many services where catering just never came back after Covid…3 hour long trip to Killarney or Tralee and in dire need of a water…how about you just die.

    2. In the interim, couldn’t they just put in vending machines ?

I did find interesting that the Shinkansen in Japan have no catering on them either (unless you’re in the most premium carriage). Everyone just brings their own food on.

    4. Even when they had catering, they stocked very few Irish brands. Given the amount of tourists that would take the train, it’d be a perfect way to showcase what we’ve got to offer

Trains are so rammed with people standing in the aisles you wouldn’t be able to get to the catering services anyway

Got train from Cork to Dundalk recently. Premium class on Belfast Enterprise is like chalk and cheese V’s Cork business class route. Cork train has a trolley with sweets, crisps, tea (Barry’s of course 😊) & granulated coffee. Belfast train had menus, hot meals & filtered coffee and waiter service! I realise many routes have nothing! It’s deliberate crap service in Republic 😠

Honestly lads it’s not ideal but it’s hardly that big a deal.

We have much bigger fish to fry. Don’t mind this stuff tackle housing, healthcare etc please.

    8. Get the fucking high speed rails 200-250 kmph on track. Its already 2025 and its big time. Just be the same level as other developed EUs.
