Ciao a tutti,

    Grazie

I am not a baker but I’m pretty certain that you NEED yeast to make proper bread.

      >I did not add the stuff that makes the bread fluffy and got this lovely non fluffy result

I’d suggest adding the stuff that makes the bread fluffy.

As a person with this passion, I see few issues

      – Yeast is not an option, even crackers have it
      – Not enough water, the inside is too compact
      – Not cooked enough

Follow recipes and master them, then eventually customize, not the other way around

    5. yeast eats on sugars and basically farts out gas that makes the bread dough bubbly. So it is needed

    6. Bread is at a minimum 4 ingredients: flour, water, salt, and yeast… you can’t leave anything out.

How to make bread should be basic human knowledge:

      – Mix Flour + water + yeast +a bit of salt in a bowl. Aim for approximately 600ml of water for 1kg of flour. No need to be precise and no need to knead, just mix them together until they are uniform.

      – Cover with a towel and let in room temperature for a couple of hours

      – Put in preheated oven around 200C (even better in a dutch oven if you have it) until done (look at it, knock it, smell it)

This will produce edible and healthy bread every time. No need for machines and special ingredients.

Of course to make specialty bread (baguette, focaccia, zopf, challah etc) there are more complicated and precise recipes. But if you’re starting out, just stick with the basics and enjoy.

next time follow the recipe??? why is it always people that know nothing about baking that do shit like this lol!

      for future references:

have you followed the recipe, and i mean the entire recipe? if the answer is no, there you go. thats your answer, thats why it came out bad. just follow the recipe!

    9. Bread is:
      – Flour
      – Water
      – Leavening agent
      – Salt.

You can make your leavening agent, that’s what a sourdough starter is. But that means letting flour ferment for about 2 weeks. So there are technically some yeast in flour and the air, but you need a lot more.
