Ahh the solution to everything … Fuck the middle/working class

    2. Greedy-Tutor3824 on

Class warfare, trying to put the middle and working class against a poverty class, because this cowardly government won’t stand up to the ultra wealthy, or the giant corporations.

    3. callsignhotdog on

Can’t tax the poor because they’ve got nothing left to take.

Won’t tax the rich or the corps because they’re donors.

Only group left is the Middle.

    4. Nima-night on

No it wouldn’t just get the daily mail/boots/Amazon etc and big corporations that make millions daily in the UK to pay their fair share . It’s time to remove the two tier tax system in the UK where workers pay all the tax and corporations get all the rights laws tax brakes and can claim non-dom status when clearly making millions from UK these people are sticking their fingers up to everyone who does pay tax into the UK system.

The more you squeeze the middle class back into working class the more the rich laugh and prosper.

The more discontent festers in the country and this leads to more crime, substance abuse and hate.

The only true solution is to tax the rich correctly. Get rid of the tax loopholes put laws in place that prevent them from hiding money offshore (especially the monarchy, they are supposed to be the most British and therefore all their wealth should be housed and invested in the UK).

    6. bongsandbacktrack on

And they then wonder why nobody is having kids when working people just get shafted more and more every day.

    7. Lancs_wrighty on

How about an in the open tax on the super wealthy? Increase capital gains.

    8. Early_Retirement_007 on

It’s the easy group to target – they won’t say a thing, they’re not poor enough to complain or rich.

    9. ukstonerguy on

Just tax the multi nationals and stop the offshoring. Its not that hard and they will not just pack up and leave. They will still make enough money. Just tax them.

    10. AdAggressive9224 on

I don’t mind the idea of higher taxation at all, but I’m definitely not paying higher taxes when there are people with far more wealth than myself who are paying a lower percentage than I do.

I think it’s actually immoral to make a contribution to a system that taxes a worker more than it taxes someone who’s making their money through asset appreciation and passive income.

I’m quite upset about the winter fuel allowance really, I think it’s deeply immoral to ask someone who’s earning average wage but who’s shelling out 40 or even 50pc of their income on rent or mortgage to pay for some elderly person’s heating bill who isn’t paying that for their accomodation. If anything, the elderly should be paying out of their estate to fund these things.

So the Rich still holding the rest of country to ransom…. shocking

    12. Kind_Dream_610 on

Or how about just making businesses pay their due tax, and having billionaires pay just a fraction more. 1% on each billion is a lot of fucking money.

    13. Odd_Ninja5801 on

How about taxing the billionaires and corporations for a change? You know, the ones that have been syphoning off pretty much all of the economic growth for the last 40 years?

Pretty sure they’ve got enough money to cover this. I’m equally fucking sure that the middle class don’t any more.

    14. knitscones on

Well Tories stealth taxes were legend, Reforms financial policy would mean everyone apart from millionaires and billionaires would pay 90% tax to make it work!

    15. Out of curiosity, why not high earners, like the top 1% high earners?

    16. CagedRoseGarden on

Disgusting. New billionaires getting minted every week and this is what they come up with.

    17. GreenestPure on

Could always go after all the billions stolen by cronies during covid…but they’re our cronies now.

    18. wec2019seeng on

Or…. Hear me out….. maybe…. Tax the rich people who avoid tax…. 🤫

    19. Inglorious555 on

No, a stealth tax on high earners would be better

The lower and middle earners should be exempt from this

That serves me right for being the first in my family to go to university and try to make life better for me and my family.

    21. Comments in this thread…

No one can read the Article because it’s behind a paywall. Everyone is hooked by a media headline. A headline designed to infuriate you. It’s working.

Taking an inews.co.uk headlines as Labour policy…

The article is just pure speculation. It doesn’t source anyone from Labour saying taxes are being raised.

But hey. The country is in a mess. Taxes probably will need to rise for everyone because the country is close to financial ruin (debt, interest) caused by years of policy failures, How did that happen? /Shocked Tory face.

    22. ShockingShorties on

The IR admit they haven’t got a clue as to how much money leaves UK shores each year.

THIS is where the problem exists and where a solution must be found.

    23. What’s most frustrating is that the Labour MPs who forced this u turn on welfare will be patting each other on the back and genuinely thinking they’ve done some great service to the nation. And of course none of them will have any sensible suggestions on what we should cut instead. Likely they’ll all say some variation of ‘tax the rich’ with no understanding of what the Laffer Curve is

    24. PoodleBoss on

And there it is again: the middle class crafters get shafted again.

    25. DinosaurInAPartyHat on

Gonna stealth my way out of this country, the tax I pay is already ridiculous. Especially considering the shit public services in my area.
