Starmer has gone from calling the Tories inhumane over welfare reforms, to being called worse than the Tories for his welfare reforms in just over a year.

Somewhat remarkable, that they spent years claiming they were a government in waiting and the moment they get what they want it becomes clear they actually agreed with the Conservatives on most issues.

Just like with HE crisis, green initiatives being scrapped, dog whistle racism etc it started under the Tories but accelerated worse still under Starmer

    3. Worse than anything under the Tories? /doubt.

I know people have short memories but they should really look back to the early 2010s.

Has anyone actually seen the bill or are we crying over yet to be spilled milk?

I am sure they will love what will happen after Reform gets elected, following support for Labour imploding by 2029.

“If concessions are possible, so is proper reform,”

Ok but what reform do people actually want to see?

Should people who are reliant on benefits funded by working people be a little more grateful for what we give them?

Well, yeah. Benefits as they have been recently is helping to get by. But it’s pretty redundant if there’s no treatment or services.

Much rather lose PiP than to be in limbo with my condition for another decade.

Well actually the Tories wanted to make it even more unpleasant for people to claim PIP and disabilitt benefits.

That being said, the proposed cuts aren’t right and should be fully reversed.

What’s frustrating here is this is yet another thing the left of the Labour Party said he would do when he got into power.

Still waiting on that house of Lords reform or the national broadband he promised when he was aiming for Labour leader lmao.

I’m annoyed that disability campaigners, and that includes the ones I know, ever thought labour would be different. They brought in some of the harshest disability rules ever, with brown and never stood in the way of any Tory legislation that fucked us over.

People need to understand, Labour or Tory, they are both sides of the same coin, with only an edges difference.

Yet same people I bet would vote Reform.

      Sheep voting for wolves

    13. The thing is, these wouldn’t be much of an issue if it was to serve tax cuts, but the country is at a point of unsustainable amounts of spending, and people throw a fit whenever anyone tries to do anything about it, because some people lose free stuff

Its amazing what happens when you get hold of the books and actually see the state of the place.

    15. Crazy_Reputation_758 on

Tories wanted to save 9 billion and give people vouchers so I think if they were in it would be worse(not that Labour aren’t being cruel too)

How can a two-tier system work? It will be ruled as unlawful (Ageist) because two people with identical circumstances will be treated differently by the state based purely on age.
