Maybe the problem isn’t nicotine, alcohol, weed, or coke but the fact the government has made the future outlook for young people look so bleak that they run to substances as a form of escapism.
Typical tackle the symptom but not the root cause.

>Prof Crown said vapes sales should be restricted to pharmacies, and only be available to purchase under medical prescriptions
This seems like overkill. They should ban disposable vapes because of the environmental impact, and because buying a resuable vape, coils, and liquids would also probably make it more difficult and expensive for kids. And maybe have the same standard as tobacco products that it should be kept out of view in retailers rather than being actively advertised in shop windows.

And sure only during the week a study found that disposable vape clouds are full of lead, nickel, and antimony. Give it another 10 years of humming and hawing and the government might get off their holes and do something about it

Legalise weed at 25 and raise the bar for everything else ; ban single use vapes and require an upfront investment in a reusable

As someone who hasn’t ever really smoked or used drugs at all I don’t really understand why so many young people seem genuinely compelled to have nicotine in their system/engage in some sort of smoking.
Like with alcohol I can at least understand the hook of it loosens everyone up and leads to funny stuff. But smoking, vaping, nicotine, etc, I just don’t get this effect where kids are always doing one of them and we just sort of accept that like “yeah kids just love nicotine because they’re kids”

My husband had a group of young girls ask him to buy them vapes last night outside our local shop, he said they couldn’t have been more than 14, he said no obviously. I said I’d rather them smoke rollies cuz at least they’re biodegradable when they inevitably feck them on the ground. The amount of vapes discarded around the place is crazy. The fact that they only decided to push legislation to only sell to over 18s recently is mental. And they’re hugely popular going by the amount of vape shops around.
