Did we have people shouting for the deaths of British soldiers in Afghanistan or Iraq? I remember maybe one or two people saying things like that online, but it didn’t spread much beyond edgy online teens.

Shouldn’t he be concentrating on selling off the NHS or whatever his job is, rather than getting upset about what people say about foreign militaries?

    3. Antique-Conflique on

The scholarly consensus is that the IDF is committing genocide. Our rules based international order says it’s a genocide.

No I don’t support Hamas or Hezbollah, nor am I anti-semitic, I’m on the side of the kids being slaughtered.

Regarding the actions of the IDF: You cannot blame the individual soldiers, captains, corporals, colonels, majors, etc. of the IDF, right? They were “just following orders”!

Huh? Where have I heard that before?

    5. Longjumping_Stand889 on

We’ve been to the verge of WW3 and back in the past week, who cares about this crap? Just this bunch of nodding dogs vying for points on the socials.

    6. Better_Concert1106 on

Anyone would think Bob Vylan shot a bunch of people waiting for aid, wasted an aid convoy or bombed a hospital, given the outrage..

    7. Statickgaming on

People should probably watch the whole conversation rather than read this article, he actually came across very well and questioned IDF/ Israeli actions.

    8. TheChattyRat on

Perhaps the IDF are out of touch?

No bibi it’s everyone else that’s wrong

Having seen this and the Kneecap footage it was all a bit distasteful – definitely tilting towards Worthy Farm hate rally not peace protest.

The UN Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, inc. East Jerusalem, and Israel thinks that the IDF are ALL war criminals .

“Our finding that the basic military strategy used by the Israelis Since 7 Oct’23 leads to the inevitable conclusion that all those who have played a role in any way in the implementation of this strategy are suspected of the Commission of war crimes and crimes against humanity”

It’s all just a middle class circle jerk. Another cause will be trendy at some point.

    12. Stop wasting time on a music festival and please focus on the real issue: the unattainable peace in the region and the continued suffering on both sides.

    13. willington123 on

Is it possible to condemn the actions of the IDF and Israel while not inciting violence on others?

There are ways to support Palestine and the people of Gaza without wishing death on others and supporting a terrorist organisation that has stated they want to kill Jews.

Maybe I’m the odd one out here – and I’m sure I’ll be about to find out with the downvotes coming my way – but so many comments seem to ignore the irony of wanting the deaths of some people to stop while supporting calls for the deaths of other people.

      Maybe it’s just me.

So people who organise a pop festival have questions to answer but he offers no opinion of Israel and their death squads, interesting stance for a ‘left’ wing MP.

I think I’m voting Green next time, I’ve lost all faith in this lot.

    15. It’s a festival you mug. Much like a football crowd, they are going to sing provocative stuff whether you agree with them or not.

    16. Sensitive_Echo5058 on

People will desperately try to justify this type of language as an acceptable form of protest, similarly to how many on here glorified the strategies of groups such as Palestinian Action.

This is an example of extreme language and behaviour, which serves to lower the boundaries of peaceful protest.

It’s therefore very difficult to view such actions as a serious attempt to promote a pathway for peace that benefits both Gazans and Isrealis.

Instead, it comes across as if he’s engaging in militia cosplay, through an attempt to posture as some sort of revolutionary figure. When like kneecap, I suspect his primary purpose right now exists to maximise profit from an audience that’s drawn in by the illusion of liberation.

    17. The ironic thing is that this wouldn’t have received an eye bat had the chants been about the Russian army. Hypocrisy at its finest.

    18. newnortherner21 on

The festival has many things to answer for. Exploiting artists for example. Probably asking people to work for less than the minimum wage too.

Not that it makes calling for someone’s death acceptable.

    19. GeeKay44 on

I agree there should be questions.

Politics and political statements should not be voiced from the stage at a music festival. It should be left to politicians.
Politicians are the voice of the people that elected them.
SOMETIMES, POLITICIANS NEEDED TO BE REMINDED OF THIS AND WHAT THE PEOPLE ARE ACTUALLY THINKING.

Which is why you SOMETIMES NEED political statements at music festivals.

    20. VainJokester on

I think it should be as simple as keep your political views to yourself at a festival. People have spent to much money just to be there to have fun and relax. And this was probably more a publicity stunt than anything else got everyone talking about an obscure band most people didn’t know existed until yesterday

    21. IntrepidTangerine434 on

Just crazy kids having crazy fun … just like those crazy kids at the Nova Festival. Maybe footage from Nova should have been shown just before this set just to put the festival goers in the party mood – nothing like the senseless murder of over 360 like minded, fun loving festival goers at a music festival to set the tone for a top day out s. This conflict is wrong all round but the irony just blows my mind.

    22. R3DSmurf on

When the unwavering force of ‘woke’ meets the unyielding stupidity of ‘art’ …

    23. TeaBoy24 on

People here are conflating two things.

One thing is what IDF is doing and condemning it

The other is death chants against them.

Hence why inappropriate. Death chants are never appropriate.

    24. NARVALhacker69 on

It’s the IDF who has questions to answer about the ongoing genocide and ethnic cleansing of Gaza and the weekly progroms at the West Bank

    25. BrockChocolate on

What they should have chanted was “Death to countries who commit genocide” then it would only be offensive if they agreed
