There seems to be a two finger salute by some commercial drivers to their profession and the safety of other road users. Should their not be higher penalties for them?

That lorry driver should be serving the full 7 years jail sentence. He knew his tyres weren’t roadworthy, he had been driving for 15 hours without proper breaks, misusing the tachograph and had several speed infringements that day.

Appallingly sad – too many young men in this country think they know it all on the roads and that they can get away with anything, it’s all just great craic sure without any consequences. – tragically it’s the family and loved ones of this beautiful young man who have to face the consequence of someone else’s terrible disregard for road safety

Should be manslaughter really. It’s one thing being careless or not knowing he had a problem, but it was proven he knew there was a problem, checked the Tyre several times and even checked the price of a new Tyre.
Seems like he calculated the price and decided that the price of someone else’s life was less than the cost of the Tyre.
      Cunt.
