When Orban gets ultimately voted out of power everyone in Hungary is going to slap each others’ backs and celebrate the great achievement, but will anyone want to pause to reflect how the majority of Hungarians kept the dude in power for a continuous 15 year (!) stretch despite his vile behaviour and all the harm he caused for the longest time?
There’s a saying that every electorate gets the politicians it deserves. Same with Erdogan, same with PiS (which is looking to make a resurgence already) …
Of course, they can just change the law at any time, but at some point, if the result was still them winning, a revolution would be next. They might instead change it so the next government doesn’t have real power to change things.
Is that vertical line the next elections?
