    1. > MPs say they received a litany of threats, including the possibility of a general election. Those on the right of the party were warned their actions could bring about a leadership challenge that would be won by Angela Rayner. The same threat was made to those on the left, but with Wes Streeting as the looming spectre.

Yikes. So it really is just about the in group saying and doing anything to maintain power

I bet Morgan McSweeney is fuming that some lefties made it through his selection process…

Local Labour parties are meant to select parliamentary candidates with strong ties to the area and an understanding of local needs and concerns. However, McSweeney and the Labour right have overridden this principle, imposing shortlists of loyalists in defiance of established party rules and historical precedent.

      Obviously didn’t work that well…

It’s actually quite hilarious the r/HENRYUK sub is now up in arms over possibly more tax on the middle class now that welfare plans have been binned. What did you all expect?

Absolutely mad, pushing for policy that is ripping the labour party apart over a saving goal of £5bn per year. Surely focusing on the £35bn per year waste in government inefficiencies would have been a better fight to pick. Something is really damn messed up with our country’s politics.
