well if fucking murmansk had a 30⁰ heatwave we would all be cooked to death i think so no wonder northern europe got spared

    2. Living in that purple dot here in Spain, I can confirm the heat is just as the map says. Thank god for AC, that’s the only thing saving me from this insanity.

Spared? Give us the heatwave in the Baltics! I feel like summer is going by without any good days and would like not to think about winter clothing. I want shorts, t-shirt and a air-con for a few weeks.

Ireland got bloody lucky with this heatwave. It’s record-breaking here in Britain

And here I am in LT “enjoying” 18 degrees summer with strongest winds in years lol

Again, where I am, it supposed to be 28. Nope. It is 34.

21C where I am in Sweden. I think it’s pretty nice, warm enough that you can go outside without wearing an extra shirt or jacket, but cold enough that you don’t get sweaty.

Ireland seems pretty pleasant right now. Here in bavaria the air is uncomfortable.

I wouldn’t mind the heatwave. Usually this part of the year I could already start my swimming in the lake season. Now the water is still pretty cold for a summer. It’s one of the coldest Junes I remember. I still count some of that heat will come to the east.

One more reason for Iceland being the best country.

44ºC currently in Portugal where I am right now. wish I could post pictures in this sub

    14. KarnusAuBellona on

Yes instead we’re enjoying 15 degrees and 15 m/s winds. Summer at it’s best.

This color scheme is so bad at conveying the temperature… Why 25 degrees is in red? That is an optimal temperature and pretty normal for mid-summer

    16. vltskvltsk on

Hell itself will freeze over before we Finns get to enjoy a warm summer 💪🏻

    17. When I was young (so last decade) summer would top at 25 to 27 degree celcius

Now, every year We have 30 degree. That aint right

    18. katbelleinthedark on

Only 26C in my city right now, hoping it’ll get higher this week. I want my warmth.

We’re not completely spared here in Iceland, it’s almost 15° in some places in the South!

    20. The_Witcher_3 on

34 in Cambridge, England today. I don’t feel spared lol

    21. KamelLoeweKind on

How is 11 degrees in mid summer already yellow? Idk but I feel like these charts are trying to fool as. Like yes, climate change is real. And yes, we don’t want to be treated like children.

I’m in northern spain en and at some point last weekend it reached 40°C

It’s hell and to think this is happening in june already… Makes me wonder how we gonna survive in august at this rate

    23. mods4mods on

41 degrees at the time of commenting. Someone save me please

This is insanity…we need both extreme energy efficiency as well as unlimited access to ultra cheap reliable scaleable as low as possible emissions energy…

As things stand we will need nuclear to survive this. And much, much more efficient and cheap solar.

Honestly, as I was born in Asia, this heatwave is pretty ok for me. Humidity is pretty low in comparison to what I have experienced back in my home country. I remember that the temperature would be 38-43C for a few weeks at 80-90% humidity. Even when it rained, the temperature only dropped to 30-33C and it still feels horrible indoor.

I just can’t bear the massive temperature swing of 10-15 degrees in Europe. At night, it is still hot so I have to use a fan + not using a blanket. As a result, when it gets a bit chilly in the morning, well, I get woken up early.

    26. lkdubdub on

I beg to differ. It’s due to be a suffocating 18° here tomorrow in NW Ireland

    27. VladHawk on

It’s 20° in Kharkiv with strong wind. IMO, the ideal summer temperature, don’t think it’ll last long, though.

    28. Emily_Corvo on

Good thing it’s not everywhere, I can’t imagine Ukraine having to defend the country at 40 degrees. Can even soldiers stay in uniform at that temperature?
