If you shop in Aldi and Lidl, it would be much cheaper, you are just shopping at expensive stores.

      /s obviously

      Lads, a genuine question here

Where in the name of Christ is cheapest to shop.

Shop around and you find prices are going up in all the shops. Lidl is the cheapest for most items.

It’s just price gouging at this point. We got the aul rising prices as being the cause back when Russia invaded Ukraine but that doesn’t wash anymore.

It would be great if there was a site you could input a shopping list to and it would spit out where you could get stuff the cheapest and the most efficient route to the different shops.

Lidl and Aldi can be cheaper but you have Dealz and Mr. Price too. I usually buy the toiletries there unless Tesco have something on Club Card. For example you can get 1l Listerine in Deals for €6 but it’s €9 in Tesco and a 100ml tube of Corsodyle for €4 and it’s €7+ in Tesco for a 75ml one.

Meat and poultry and bread rolls have seen massive increases out of the stuff I regularly buy.

Something is not adding up about these inflation stats (and I think CSO are very, very solid with their stats). Im definitely seeing larger increases in prices in the store, more than 4% in a lot of items.

For example, a bag of coffee has gone from €8 to €12, chicken fillets have gone up at least 10%, and mince beef has definitely gone up by at least 40%.

That’s before you look at rent, house prices etc.
