Americans are paying the tariff, and indeed prices will go up and some will buy less but the Orange man big beautiful bill should give people a higher income so they can pay the increased price. It will indeed have an impact on the employment in Europe but we should not accept the arrogance of the current American government. We do what the canadians do … show them the middle finger 🙂

The point is to weaken the eu so putin can invade further

    4. What annoys me is that it is always a bluff. We need the full power of consequences falling over these irresponsible leaders and voters.

If Italy and other countries can hang on until next June, the tariffs will go away. The US Court of International Trade ruled them illegal. That ruling is now being appealed, with a ruling expected in maybe 6 months. After that, another appeal to the US Supreme Court, which releases rulings in June each year.

The president cannot act unilaterally to impose tariffs on every country. He can use tariffs on specific products for justifiable national security reasons. This goes way too far. Every product from every country is absurd. The current Supreme Court believes in something called the major questions doctrine, so it will agree with the lower court to remove the tariffs. The lower court also ruled the US has to return tariff money to the importers that paid the tariffs, and that should be upheld as well.

Yes, it sucks that we have to wait a year, but courts are slow. Here in the US, we are prepared for inflation as tariffs go into effect. Honestly, if US consumers hold on for a year and other countries do too, then Trump is humiliated and tariffs vanish.

It’s the same story everywhere in Europe. Right-wing parties proudly parade as “patriots” while kissing Trump’s ass, the very president threatening the EU with tariffs and trade wars for years.

Just look at Meloni’s idiotic statement, “We hope to make the West great again” (https://www.bbc.com/news/live/cewgn4jnkd2t ). How stupid can you be to think you’re a great prime minister because you parrot Trump’s slogan?

I’ve said it many times here, this is the tragic state of European politics. On the right, you have wannabe fascists, climate deniers, Trump fanboys, Putin’s lovers, and fake “patriots” who don’t really care about their people. They just want to be the next Orbán or Trump in their home country.

And on the left? A mixture of Russia’s useful idiots, antisemites, Islamist apologists, Hezbollah sympathizers, embracing anyone who shares their hatred of the West, even when it directly contradicts the fundamental, traditional, values of Europe’s left. They cling to the mantra “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” regardless of who that friend might be.

Ironically, they’re the ones ringing the alarm on the climate crisis, and they’re absolutely right, Europe is currently BAKING under relentless heatwaves, but they seem incapable of standing for anything unless it comes wrapped in a keffiyeh or a hijab….

      We’re screwed in the EU

She’s looking for an excuse for her own wretched self. She wants to argue that she didn’t do anything wrong, she told the Europeans to “make a deal”

      Hahahahaha

I guess she picked the wrong horse when she supported Trump!!
