Famous faces, including Miriam Margolyes, Charles Dance, and Mike Leigh, have signed an open letter demanding the sacking of BBC board member Sir Robbie Gibb.
Historian William Dalrymple, comedian Alexei Sayle, Zawe Ashton, and Khalid Abdalla are amongst 400 prominent figures from the arts and media world who have called the BBC’s reporting of Israel a cause of “great shame.” The letter, which has also been signed by 111 anonymous BBC journalists, blasts the broadcaster for being “crippled by the fear of being perceived as critical of the Israeli government.” The signatories also claimed the coverage of being “defined by anti-Palestinian racism.”
According to GB NEws, the letter states, “We are concerned that an individual with close ties to the Jewish Chronicle… has a say in the BBC’s editorial decisions in any capacity, including the decision not to broadcast Gaza: Medics Under Fire.”

At least it isn’t someone she used to work with under fire for once.

As they should. The owner of the Jewish Chronicle, an extremely pro-Israeli publication with ties to the Netanyahu government, should under no circumstances have any editorial control over the BBC

I love Miriam and she, and the others, are quite correct

So their problem is that Jewish people have too much of a say in the bbc? Is that really the argument?

I take it GB News weren’t approached to broadcast it?

Wasn’t this the same BBC that released a documentary which had translations like turning word Jew into Israeli army (to hide who violence was being directed against), and translating the word Jihad to resistance?
The BBC is absolutely willing to go after Israel, and that’s just the regular BBC. The idea that the BBC is somehow unwilling to criticise Israel is laughable.
How have all the people demanding this documentary’s release somehow unaware of what the BBC and BBC Arabic has done?

If people think the BBC has been unwilling to be sympathetic to the Palestinians and Hamas they are either on a different planet or deep deep deep into the cause

The zionist tentacle has crept into all areas of UK society, they do things to serve Israeli and Zionist interests using state funded media.

If you ever wonder what side of an argument to be on: Do what Miriam does.
