The ignorance. The absolute ignorance that the single most important thing to powering, lubricating, creating and providing for the entire planet is being demonised as such

And yet advertising gambling, which is addictive and ruins people’s lives, is perfectly fine lol

Will this actually accomplish anything? I don’t know anyone that gives a shit about advertising for petrol, they just get the cheapest at their local station. It’s not like people are suddenly going to stop filling up their car because they don’t see a Shell billboard on the way to work or anything.

Great idea (on the face of it) and should probably happen.
As a sort of related note, wouldn’t be any harm in cutting out most of the crypto advertising. It’s highly unregulated as is with room for sham trading

This will likely just end up putting more money in the fossil fuel industries pocket for absolutely no reason. It’ll be like cigarettes when advertising was banned, the companies saved that cash and people still smoked. People are still going to use fuel and fuel derived items whether they advertise the upstream manufacturer or not.

Do fossil fuel companies even advertise? Cant think I’ve ever seen one. Although my add block is pretty watertight. Complete nonsense to think this will make any difference whatsoever.

Waste of time anyway, nobodies waiting for the next fuel to drop.
I buy fuel because I need fuel, not because I desire brand marketing.

I always forget about putting diesel in my car until I see an advert for it.

Keeping the fashion and media companies showing harmful imagery. Subliminally saying to people “you need to lose weight, you need makeup” how harmful

Yes why do we need green washing from them. But also gambling needs to go.
