When in London the other week I noticed the amount of these mini marts that had sprung up, all carbon copies of each other. Just ban any further applications to set them up. Also, I’m going to be that person, but if the owners/workers are just repeatedly committing crime…why can’t they be deported?

Given we’re clamping down on cigs and phasing them out anyway with the laws Sunek brought in, why not just move to a Spanish style system where only specific tobacconist shops can sell them, then you can automatically go after any other shop flogging legal or illegal ones.

Clearly a big issue.
Round my way, there are so many ‘turkish barbers’ opening up, next door to each other and rarely have anyone in.
I have no idea how they survive on the high street. Oh, I wonder if…

I remember when owners got caught they at least tried to sound remorseful, there’s no fear anymore. There needs to massive fines and seizing of private, and business properties. Any income unaccounted for needs to be frozen.

Massive issue in the Midlands. All seem to be Afghans laundering their money from the heroine trade. They are recent arrivals Imported by Boris under Operation Warm Welcome (20,000 of them with free housing etc). They also sell that new craze, laughing gas. Police clearly don’t give a shit neither do trading standards. One guy has about 25 shops, named ‘Bob’. He’s even numbered them, yet no law enforcement/HMRC has yet to investigate where the money is coming from to set all these up. They’d rather spend their time chasing down anyone who they can squeeze a few extra quid out of tax.

Prices are ridiculous tbf, can’t blame people for turning to the black market.

It’s funny really as this wasnt an issue when cigs were priced at a reasonable level….. they are so expensive these days it makes sense to people like this to smuggle in cheap cigs from other countries. the government got far too greedy with the taxes on cigs and before anyone comes at me to say it’s to stop people getting sick and taking up NHS resources why don’t we have this outlook on alcohol ????
Wait until next year when the vape tax comes in, we will see exactly the same thing happening with under the counter goods from abroad or stuff thats been made in some dingy house in the UK.
