      I listened to a bit of it… Yes it is true that some Japanese people get absolutely fascinated by a specific foreign culture, kind of like a reverse Weebo. But I wouldn’t say that Ireland is “big” in japan at all.

      It will be a bit niche. Most Japanese people are quite reserved and focused on Japanese culture as they’ve already got one of the most varied and prominent cultures in the world. Only 17% of them have a passport.

      The ones that become fascinated with European cultures will usually choose France, Italy, Spain and England before Ireland. Anyone enamored with Irish culture over there will be part of a very niche group.
