      This is essentially an appeal to the EU Commission to review consumer rights regarding the long-term ownership of video games—specifically beyond their expected lifespan. If it goes through, it would mean that game companies would be required to ensure their games remain playable long after they’ve been sold. This mainly affects single-player games that, for example, rely on an internet connection to function properly. When the servers go offline, those games risk becoming lost media.
