There is more to this story than we are getting.
They don’t bring the public order unit to an address for no reason.
Anyone think this is an excessive sentence, purely in the context of other sentences?
– Assault someone = suspended sentence
– Damage a car belonging to a guard = 5 months in jail
He’s obviously a dickhead – but given our reluctance to jail violent criminals – I wonder if it would be the same outcome if the victim wasn’t a guard.
Seems like such a clear case of gardai corruption.

For everyone else this would be a “civil matter”
Something about “dirty big scratch” rather than “big dirty scratch” really bothers me
Someone messes with a civilians car = that’s a civil matter
Someone messes with a garda car = 6 months in prison
Garda was bringing his kids for ice-cream. He should have just tried to snatch one of them, would have got a slap on the wrist.
Funny how the guards can catch him but when an old dickhead scrapped the side of my mothers car they were unable to do anything. Pack of useless corrupt cunts
