I seen kids as young as 5/6 with union jacks painted on their faces, carrying toy rifles about. Classy. When I got to work (restaurant at Shaftesbury square), we had to get a bouncer, got dogs abuse. A heavily pregnant woman was necking a bottle of wine leaning on the window, absolutely loaded. Paramilitary flags and that’s allowed. I’ve never felt more intimidated than having to walk through that (and before anyone says, I left at my normal time to leave for work, I had no idea about the scale of it, so didn’t have time to walk around).

Then on Paddy’s day, police will harass you for drinking outside. They go around the holy lands in riot gear, harassing anyone that sets foot outside their property with a drink.
