What fucking planet are people on where they think a site encouraging suicide is a good thing???

I’d imagine a pro suicide forum would have a small amount of users to begin with

>If a service restricts UK users’ access, that action would need to be effective in order for the service to fall out of scope of the Act”.
I can’t tell if OFCOM are stupid or if they know this act is totally unenforceable but are trying to act tough.
The site has blocked UK users and is based overseas, all they can do is block it themselves as well, in which case a VPN will still get around it?

Suicide is no fun business and most people has zero idea on what’s behind that. People that look on this forums for help are not trying to make some light headed decision neither base themselves in what someone else says. The truth is NHS is a massive mess and despite lots of people want to help people in distress situation they mostly try to avoid the final decision but little to no effort is put on trying to make sure people are far away from the cliff. NHS and help lines put massive effort in making sure you don’t jump the cliff but they allow you to be on the edge constantly. People on the edge are in a tremendous amount of pain and pain can only build up so I’m not surprised that people look for this forums where they share their feelings with other people that can relate with them.
TLDR; It’s only frustrating that so much effort is put into avoiding suicides but little effort is put into actually address peoples’ pain. In other words, it’s OK to suffer as long as you don’t die from your pain.

Tbf when I was suicidal the one thing that weirdly helped me was coming across a suicide forum with lists of methods, effectiveness and pain level and I realised they were all pretty grim and I couldn’t be arsed buying suicide pills from someone online so I just decided to keep on living

If someone is seeking out such a forum, I don’t think it’s fair to blame the forum. They are probably already committed and are researching ways of doing it
