Yesterday, the mayor of Antalya’s Manavgat district was taken into custody on “bribery” allegations.
Today, the metropolitan mayors of Antalya, Adana, and Adıyaman have also been detained. The mayors of Antalya and Adana were highly popular figures, elected with broad public support. The opposition is strongly criticizing the situation, claiming that a civilian coup is underway in Turkey.
