    1. Why? It’s standard practice to proscribe and ban hate groups who profess and act violently.

Existing laws seem to mostly be retrospective and applied after an offence has been committed. The alternative is costly and we are stretched.

Palestinian Action documented their attack on RAF planes and reiterated their intention to continue.

I’m not sure Amnesty has the right approach here. That said I agree that there is a risk of overreach from the State.

‘Instead of taking draconian measures to [proscribe Palestine Action], the Government should be taking immediate and unequivocal action to put a stop to Israel’s genocide and end any risk of UK complicity in it’.

This is just torching their own credibility for the sake of headlines. Claiming that banning a violent group is draconian is quite frankly mental.

if they had done anything else other than breaking into a military base I would agree

It’s not surprising that the government bans an organisation which *checks notes* breaks into a British military base and damages expensive assets, rendering them temporarily undervicable.

Amnesty International have not been a neutral, credible source for quite some time. Sad to see.

Easiest way to avoid getting your protest organization banned would be to not commit an act of terrorism on UK soil. And for the record it’s a valid thing to be upset about the IDF is doing some very messed up things even if the actions by HAMAS on 7/10 were highly indefensible.

Once you start causing damage worth millions for political reasons, the law will inevitably come after you.
