Quite bizzare, I’ve only ever given a sample when asked so not sure why anyone would assume you send them in without being prompted.

Can confirm this is most definitely a thing. A decent chunk of people don’t even put enough information on the container to identify whose effluvia is in the bottle, at which point it is less a request for medical intervention and more a sort of harmful communication.
As a GP, I’m entitled to take the piss. But you don’t get to, err, bring the piss?

You can get the testing sticks online cheap enough if you just want the basics.

I’m in full agreement with this, I don’t want people sending me their piss either.

At least a handful of times people have posted unsolicited faeces ‘samples’ through the prescription box, sometimes full logs in Tupperware boxes and jars
Once it was someone’s toilet paper with stool and blood on it
People are disgusting

Well this explains why the receptionist always double checks that someone requested my urine sample when I drop one off. I always thought “well of course. it’s a lot of hassle, who’s doing this just because they feel like it?”

GPs announce they are no longer taking the piss. Public disagree.

As a GP receptionist, this made me chuckle because it actually does happen. 😅

The GP added: “And if you must send one, for God’s sake put it in a container.”

Why would people send GP’s unsolicited fresh urine?
Especially when there are people online who will pay you to shower them in liquid gold.
You’re wasting perfectly good kinks people! **/S**

I know it’s probably mostly elderly people but if you are worried or just want a piece of mind you can buy the test strips on Amazon and use ai to interpret the results. Obviously DO NOT USE if you’re worried about anything. Go to your gp. But if you are just doing general health between doctors health checks then it works.
