      Little do these people realise that they are walking advertisements for why women alone and, indeed, together with their partners, should have the option of an abortion.

      Edit: On a slightly unfair note (I’m going to say it anyway), isn’t it generally the case that the people attending these rallies are really fuckin’ ugly.

      Every person is pro life, no one wants to see people die…these people are just pro birth, they don’t give a shit what kind of environment that child is coming into. Once its born they don’t care.

      Glad there’s an attempt to rephrase this grouping: “pro life” has always been a dogmatic, intentionally bad faith framing of their viewpoint – so it has gone with their inflammatory rhetoric. Obviously the voting public saw through it but “anti abortion” or “anti choice” is a better term as ultimately, who isn’t for life?

      The funding for so many of these anti-abortion groups is often linked to [US money ](https://www.theatlantic.com/sexes/archive/2013/01/why-american-pro-life-dollars-are-pouring-into-ireland/266981/)That’s a loophole that should honestly be stopped. They even [sent protestors over with money](https://www.cnn.com/2018/05/23/europe/ireland-abortion-referendum-american-campaigners-intl) to sway the vote on the Eighth Amendment back in 2018. It is a point that really should be looked at and dealt with.

      Had a lovely day in town yesterday, walked right across these gobshites, one had a sign that was like like “over 5000 abortions since 2019! Rare? Yeah right” and I knew exactly what I was crossing. She said excuse me, I responded in kind with, “you’re a disgusting human being”. We both went on our way. A lovely exchange.

      These anti-abortion types have no answers to what alternatives should be offered to women, bar put up and shut up.

      They’re against abortion in all circumstances and that’s one of the reasons they lost the argument in 2018.

      The thing is, anti abortionists want everyone to be anti-abortion.

      No “pro-abortionist” (if that’s even a thing) is EVER going to force an anti-abortionist to have an abortion.

      But the antis want me to carry a baby I don’t want? And how many of them would be there to help me raise that baby??? I’ll bet the number is pretty close to absolute fucking zero.

      Yeah banging Christian drums. As another comment said “ they don’t care what environment these kids are raised in”. This is the truth they don’t talk about. Maybe they can set up places to look after them. O wait the church did that and abused the hell out of those kids. Anyways my atheist blood is boiling.
