In that case, 79% of French citizens are correct.

Good. Let’s make this European brotherhood work then, shall we?

Damn!! France and the US have been allies for like ever! I fucking hate Donald Trump more than ever. I’m probably gonna get deported for saying this

Yeah, not sure why such sources are allowed on this sub…

    5. So 21% morons in France. That’s actually a good percentage.

    6. butwhywedothis on

Without the USA the French would be speaking…….well, French.

I don’t trust America to do the civilized thing anymore

    8. Be grateful that Charles de Gaulle never allowed the Yankees to set up bases on your territory.

Once they’re there, they’ll act as if the law of the country doesn’t apply to them and will resort to heavy political meddling, down to toppling democratically elected PMs, if they don’t get their way.

Trump dos not respect his old allies and yes it’s sure america is not our ally because all trump do is only to go to trump pocket and friends billionaires . I never understant how americans have believed he could get america first and back ! 79% is not enough !!

They’re an ally of Russia and other dictatorships. Nothing more.

    11. For everyone’s safety, do not rely on or trust the U.S. government. Especially now, as it aligns more closely with Russia.

This Canadian definitely concurs. I hope our leaders are forging new alliances and strengthening other existing coalitions with like-minded DEMOCRATIC nations.

Huh, so 20 something % of people have their brains fried. By coincidence the approximate vote share of the AfD over in Germany.

This is not a credible news site. There is no source for this poll anywhere in the article, which was written entirely by ChatGPT.

As a wise man once said, ‘In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is Freedom, in water there is bacteria.

Good so what are we going to do about it?

Some level of sovereignty for a EU military needs to be surrendered to build a unified C² , logistics and military industrial base.

Europe is for Europe to defend and it is about time we stop relying on the Americans rather than just complaining at them.

It would have been a good idea to ask before Trump administration to have a proper comparison.

    18. kokko693 on

Trump is straight up a traitor to all US former allies and even its own country.

    19. jus-de-orange on

Trump seems to respect more his enemies than allies. French, Europeans in general, Canadians and Mexican can’t be blamed for having doubts in the US being an ally.

    20. SaphirRose on

When did they ever think it was? US was at best tolerated and even then 66′ happened and later stupid shit like Iraq just decreased the opinions. If there was one country that expected Trump and his policies it was France.

    21. FloppyHobNob on

Ok so nobody cares about the fact not a single word about numbers, who was aked, how they were asked and where they were they were asked?

Big disheartened sigh. You people fucking suck

    22. RustyNewWrench on

The US can’t even count all of the US as an ally at the moment.

    23. TheoryOfDevolution on

Does it matter? I can’t recall a period of time in my adult life when a majority of French people had a positive view of the US. Not during the 2011 Libyan campaign when the US backed the French air campaign, not during the 2013 Mali campaign when the US again provided critical heavy lifts and midair refueling, and not even during the 2015 terrorist attack when the US coordinated strikes against ISIS in solidarity with France. Hell, in 2020, Macron was even calling the US a bad ally for not selling LNG to Europe at below cost. Sounds to me that this is no great loss.

    24. French here. 100% agree. Allies have relationships based on respect and fairness. Not bullying and threat.
