Just leave. ESC is not supposed to be a vote on Israeli-Palestinian relations anyway.

Germany and Italy tend to stand on the wrong side of history. Israel is murdering extremely many people, haloo? You need A LOT of justification to bomb one hospital, kill one child. This is happening long and on a mass scale without justification.

      Arrivederci and Tschüss

Like wtf is this suppose to be, blackmail?
Some countries vastly overestimate the level of fucks people give about them in a song contest.

    4. A historical alliance. And going for an ethnic cleansing again. Did someone invent a time machine?

    5. Dotcaprachiappa on

This is exactly why the vote will never happen and Israel will never get booted off. The EBU would never risk their two biggest funders like that

The contest is over then. ESC has run it’s course and it’s time to move on.

    7. Name another country that would receive this amount of protection while committing a genocide. I wonder if there’s an end to how many foreign governments Israel can own.

Germany and their crippling guilt I get.
      But Italy I don’t.

Also, fine, kick them out then.

A song contest that in theory should unite people but in practice has always been highly politicized and a constant source of scandals.

    10. OffOption on

      Oh fuck off.

Israel got in for bullshit political reasons, now after they tried to abuse the whole thing, as a cynical clout farm… now they “have” to stay… once again, for bs political reasons.

If Germany and Italy wont pull Israels dick out of their mouths, even after cheating, thats on them.

    11. Can’t blame the Germans; after the last 10 years, they’re probably just looking for a pretext to leave without it looking weird. Would miss Italy, though…

    12. Guess we’re not having song contests then anymore. Italy and Germany can go f themselves

Pro Palestinian side: allowing Israel is a political statement!

Pro Israeli side: not allowing Israel is a political statement!

Even though I’m from Germany, I say good riddance then. We can come back once even Germany understands what’s going on.

    15. warsongN17 on

Germany is absolutely pathetic when it comes to Israel, guilt tripped by Israel so much they’ll support them committing a genocide.

All these years later and they still haven’t really learnt the right lessons from their history.

    16. Genuinely it’s Eurovision not anyone in the world vision, should never have started letting non European countries in to start with

    17. Didn’t Spain also say they were out if Israel weren’t out? In that case the big five is out no matter what, and the contest is in that regard basically over.

As a German, I am so fucking embarassed. From our history, we should have learned the lesson that genocides need to be prevented at all cost. I don’t get how so many peoples’ actual take away was that no Jewish person can ever be criticized under any circumstances. And then to die on the hill that a Middle-Eastern nation absolutely needs to be part of a European music competition? What’s next, insisting that Israel takes part in European puzzle competitions or joins in on Domino Day? What an utterly dumb thing to get hung up on. You’d think that enacting a genocide would be kind of a disqualifier.

    19. knivez83 on

As a German, I’m deeply ashamed that we would even consider this. We should have a backbone and it should be okay to condemn Israel for the genocide. Also as a German, the people in charge for the German Eurovision participation are so stupid, they have no idea what good music is and we will always lose with people like that in charge.

      Just boycott the whole thing.

      Main sponsor (Moroccanoil) is Israeli.

Public vote was clear manipulation by Israel.

Will never watch it again once that shitbag country is allowed in it.

I don’t understand how Russia is out of contest but Israel remains.

Let’s just forget about politics and look at the fact that Russia is actually in Europe and Israel is located in the middle east with no official cooperation or membership with the EU .

If we were to put politics in then entry should be denied to the country that has high tensions. Whether that is Russia,Israel,Germany ,Spain (for examples) .

The handling should be neutral but instead Eurovision and generally the EU show obvious support to the US and Israel (despite what the politicians say when they wear their public masks).

    22. vincenzopiatti on

Honestly, I’m kinda happy Turkey stopped being part of Eurovision years ago. What a mess this event turned out to be.

Since most people didn’t read the article

      >KAN maintains that it fully complies with EBU regulations and emphasizes its editorial independence from the Israeli government. This point has also been acknowledged by the EBU itself in an official statement following its most recent General Assembly. This stance distinguishes Israel’s case from that of Russia and Belarus, whose public broadcasters were deemed propaganda tools of their respective regimes
