      > The U.S. To Lose $29 Billion in Tourism This Year

      So far.

      > Last year, Canadians spent $20.5 billion—nearly twice what Americans spent at McDonald’s restaurants in all of last year.

That’s one of the most American comparisons.

And there goes a big chunk of the surplus.

I’m also interested to see how the World Cup and Olympics will be affected, this Club World Cup has been bad, lots of offered tickets and many being sold by 4 dollars.

Ah the second half of the year, when the results of the year so far start kicking in, are going to be interesting to watch.

I had planned on travelling to New York and Florida this year and instead I’ll be going to Toronto and Mexico. The US is a fascist state and I’ve as much interest in going there as North Korea right now. Good luck, Americans.

Yup. Even my partner who swore to go to NY again won’t go there until T.W.A.T is out of office.

Honestly I ain’t found someone who cares about what the US is doing, like Trump is just seen as someone funny while scrolling TikTok.

Legit outside Reddit, is this actually a thing in other European countries I wonder. Maybe we just have too many of our own issues to care about the US

Who needs the refusal and/or detention at the port of entry because you forgot to wipe some social media?

    8. Kooky_Company1710 on

Uh, can the headline at least say “nein, danke!”?

That’s only one side of the equation. I wonder how many non-fascist Americans are making a point of vacationing outside the US.

I hope it’s more than $29 billion! Trump deserves it and more.

I’d rather not get sent to a concentration camp in El Salvador, so thank you, but I’m not touching that country for the forseeable future

I simply don’t feel like I would be safe there. Which is a shame since I wanted to meet a American friend of mine

It’s for the best, Europe. We’re a shit-show right now.

    14. Way to everyone in Europe who contributed to this, from someone in Canada.

There’s a difference between “no, thanks”
      And “nope”

What about countries that want to visit the EU but only possible with a Schengen? Would it benefit the EU if it made more countries visa free?

Instead of going to US dollars, EU gets more euros

I was planning to go the United States next year and possibly more than once.
I am not going near that place until the trump regime is gone , and the immigration and totalitarian border controls have gone back to the way they were, strict but human.

I usually travel from Europe to the US about twice a year. For my next trip I was planning to attend a family wedding in Seattle, but I now refuse to enter the US. So I’ll only travel as far as Vancouver. My husband is American, and he’ll cross the border alone to attend, and just to see his family. Then after two days he’s coming right back to Canada for the remainder of our trip.
Sorry USA, you need to work your shit out! In the mean time, I’ll be spending my money in a place where I do feel welcome…

Wow, a whopping .0994% of US GDP, they’ll never recover!

As someone who works at a hotel in manhattan, we’ve been flooded with Europeans, I even asked them why some many of them are coming and they said, “your dollar is weak right now and we can get more here than back home”.
