Irish people love drinking but not fans of hangovers, research shows

    2. Honestly a lot of gigs are great value. 20-40 euro.

This will sound harsh but the truth is that it’s usually the stadium/legacy acts targeted at basics/event junkies where the rip offs take place.

The vast majority of these are due to high insurance costs.

When Ed Sheeran played Ireland a few years ago insurance in Belfast cost £1600, his show in Cork cost €26000.

Insurance is the reason Ireland is now being avoided by some artists.

Someone actually got paid to write that. Stealing a living

Prices gone up, service gone down, booking fees and dynamic pricing.

Never mind the quality of the festivals. EP and Oxegen used to get the best bands in the world. Now we get one or two decent acts and a bunch of no names and has been.

Don’t you mean the high cost of just about anything in this country.

we are not fond of low price tickets either or buying music in any form. Coming from someone who works in the entertainment industry haha

Irish people love alcohol but they drink half the amount when the price is doubled

Sure it was only last week that the brother messaged me to say he purchased tickets at a high price. He delighted.

I hate live music. It’s too noisy and you can’t hear anything else. If I do go out, it’s to socialise and have a chat. I can’t do that with live music.

    12. Wanted to see kingfishr when they played recently in limerick until I saw the tickets were 100 euro a piece. Think I’ll go Birmingham for 3 days grace instead tickets are a lot more reasonable imo

People love chocolate. Not fans of tooth cavities.

People can always shop around for the best value tickets.

Well blow me down, we’re not fans of high ticket prices.

There was a documentary on RTE a few weeks back about the rise of cover bands in Ireland, and ticket prices are probably right up there.

You get the songs you love, sounding pretty close to the way you like them, in an intimate venue near to where you live, for €20-€40.

I’m not saying that a stadium gig ticket should necessarily be €20, but this fucking craic of Metallica charging €250 for a pit ticket is the death knell for these big gigs.

People are going to stop paying it and instead opt for a Metallica cover band playing your local 200-capacity nightclub for 20 quid.
