If someone robbed me of £50, I wouldn’t be up for negotiating how much I get back.

The BMA can’t reasonable expect this sort of pay rise in the current NHS model.

If this is what their members truly want they need to start campaigning for a shift to a European insurance style healthcare service. That’s the only way these sort of doctors salaries will be sustainable.

Would have been cheaper if Wes didn’t renege on his part of the deal within months.

Now the doctors have no confidence the government are acting in good faith and want it all immediately instead of over years. GG Wes.

Doctors pay has been consistently and aggressively cut over 15 years because

      1. they were previously well remunerated for what is a bloody hard job

      2. they have a sense of professionalism so will only strike when things are dreadful.

Now the pay has been cut to the bone, they have had enough. Couple this with working for a useless employer (NHS) where it’s impossible to do a good job, £100,000 plus student loan, professional costs of £4k a year and better pay elsewhere….

This will continue until there is a decent pay settlement

Shocking how they’ve decided to strike for more money after their last strike got them, let’s see, ah yes, more money…

A 29% pay rise is designed to destroy the NHS. Those who promote this are not doing so with the best intentions

Our funding model could never allow such a huge raise – the only solution would be to move towards a nasty European model, but that would be unacceptable

Their claim is based on RPI statistics which are not used for inflation models. CPI is the standard and if compared, would show that the RPI based claim is over 100% exaggerated.

I thought those in the medical profession were supposed to have an above average intelligence?
