My new way of dealing with these people is to just tell them that even if they’re right, we’re at the mercy of the energy futures market. Solar, wind and hydroelectric power isn’t going to spike in price because a dictator decides to invade somewhere.

You have to have had your head buried in bloody concrete not to notice the shift in weather patterns over the decades. Doing the local paper round in the 90s was a bloody miserable affair once you hit October/November time. Come to Australia. Climate change denial is mainstream. The Murdoch media actively calls it a hoax, talkback radio calls it a hoax, politicians call it a hoax. It’s crazy.
