Why are the police investigating something that is not a crime?

Need to stop calling these people “loyalists”, they aren’t loyal to anybody except their local gang leaders extremist politicians.

“Unionist” is not really appropriate either – the great majority of people in Britain couldn’t care less about Northern Ireland and would happily see a united Ireland.

Brilliant stuff, it’s always funny when they get set off early.

No matter what your views on immigration are that’s disgusting. And the ironic thing is none of the boats even come to Northern Ireland lol

I wonder if all the people saying this is fine and acceptable would be ok with Muslims burning effigies with British soldiers draped in union jacks

The billionaires must be thrilled that they’ve managed to convince people it’s the small boats and not them that’s the problem.

They could have chosen Elon Musk, but they chose to burn effigies of destitute people instead.

Maybe I’m soft, but I find it a bit gross burning an effigy of anyone really

What idiots no small boats have entered the north of ireland since them cunts came over

Guy Falkes was an immigrant. Yet we burn him every year.

Politicians take note. Just stop giving these men a visa if they enter the country illegally. Yes it’s a bit grim but it reflects people’s frustrations, I dont think anybody actually wants to kill these men.

      >One of the bombers killed in the Miami Showband massacre, Wesley Somerville—who was an Ulster Volunteer Force (UVF) and Ulster Defence Regiment (UDR) member, and member of the Glennane gang—was from Moygashel.[^([6])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moygashel#cite_note-6) He is commemorated by a plaque and banner in the village.[^([7])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moygashel#cite_note-7)

      >In 2017, a spokesperson from the Moygashel Residents’ Association was quoted as saying, “We are a Protestant village, he is part of the culture of the village. He is not a terrorist, he never was a terrorist as far as this village is concerned and that is not glorifying anything.”[^([8])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moygashel#cite_note-8)

      >In April 2025, a Loyalist parade in Somerville’s honour through Moygashel attracted hundreds of supporters and thirty bands.[^([9])](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moygashel#cite_note-9)

But don’t worry, guys, I’m sure they’re just concerned about the financial impact of irregular immigration.

Why are they making headlines about this, should have just ignored it and moved on. Bringing light and controvery around this gives it more legs

    13. Medical_Teaching9763 on

It’s not a hate crime, it’s a statement to stop illegal immigrants and put our own country first.
A hate crime would be burning it with something like “fuck ISLAM, cancer out” 😂

I literally see no problem, art is meant to be provocative. As Kneecap and Irish musicians have said – it’s artistic freedom of expression.

    15. cactusnan on

Racial hatred is being stoked as a deliberate attempt to divide us and stop us coming together to demand equality and better treatment. While we are divided our political parties get away with doing their jobs and the financial grift that only benefits a few goes on.

So the irony of a group of people in northern Ireland nobody else in Ireland wanted there burning people in boats who they don’t want there is not lost on people
