You might’ve seen a map of Europe 1444 in the past being shared around here, i spent the last two years remaking it to something more detailed.

Thanks to EU4 grand strategy game the year 1444 has seen extensive research over the last decade, just like War Thunder players would pull up knowledge no one could find on internet about their vehicles, EU4 players would unearth 1444 sources about their countries which no one else would know of.

There will probably be some mistakes in this map as more knowledge comes in, but we are probably far closer to knowing the accurate political setup of 1444 than any other year of the middle ages.

if you are interested you can get a map on your wall [here i guess](https://kartenverk.com/)

***for mods:*** *deleted old thread and reposted because the last one was ‘embed fail’ (no reddit preview, url only visible), too big image unfortunately had to reduce it to 20mb*

    3. I just started a new campaign of EU4 today. This map will always be nostalgic to me, even when EU5 comes out

      I don’t know why…

But something about the year “1444”…

Just sounds and looks so cool visually as well!

Like if I was going to write the next great novel… Maybe I should just title it:

      #1444

I love the mess that is the Germanic Region.

And how pretty much all neighbors didn’t even object to its first unification. They were probably feeling like “fucking finally”.

    6. Damn

I just got your older one in and framed.

      New on looks great!

While the map is nice it’s a damn shame it has got modern namings on it.

For instance, the area named “Karlstad” north of lake Vänern in sweden didnt get its name until 1584.
So lovely map but it would be even more amazing if the historic names were accurate!
