First sign is Du/dir/dich vs ihre.
Even if that was not a scam I wouldn’t work with this headhunter.

That‘s scam. MongoDB is a database system.

That AI bullshitter calling you “Lieber” is killing me, and “TitttySuckker” having his “red alerts on high red” is only amplifying it…
This is gold, do you have more of that stuff?

Nobody will ever contact you out of the blue with a legitimate job offer via Telegram/WhatsApp/Messenger/etc. That’s just not how the world works.
Don’t interact, immediately block and report as spam. You already made a mistake by replying, now these scammers will know you are a potential target. Be careful with unknown people and old acquaintances contacting you with any “offers” from now on.

It would even be a scam without the crypto stuff. Pretty much any type of online job (that is not a regular job for IT like folks with 100% remote work) is a scam.

MongoDB is a database system, not a marketing platform.
No legitimate company pays people in cryptocurrency.

This is a scam. Block and report.

1. As you are correct to deduce, payment in crypto is a massive red flag.
2. Niamh and Emily? What are their credentials beyond “working for StepStone”?
3. MongoDB is not a “digital marketing platform”, it is a database program, an alternative to SQL.
4. You get a few minutes’ training and then you work for them on commission as a freelancer “generating purchases”? That sounds like it means using a bot to artificially inflate ratings, or buying products to be shipped to random unsuspecting people whose addresses have been sold to scammers. That’s if the work even exists at all.

the first message alone gave it away: no one would write like that. That’s just a pretty bad AI generated or at least translated text.

That s what is called a “task scam” – anyone who is interested can find a lot of them on /r/scams.
You have to pay cryptocurrency to unlock pointless things to click on. In the first stages of the scam, they may pay out a small amount so that you actually make profit. In the latter stages, you have to pay ever larger amounts but do not get payouts.
Thanks to the sunk cost fallacy, people post on /r/scams who have lost thousands or tens of thousands of Euro/foreign equivalents, but how are still considering paying in more because they hope that will unlock a payout of all the money they have lost.
