This will continue to happen when things like the means testing of the winter fuel allowance gets opposed and the constant support for the triple lock happen. As well as not imposing a form of wealth tax or opposing anyway of the richest increasing their contribution.
When issues look to be fixed, we need to let them be fixed.

>The noise around wealth taxes points to property and inheritance taxation, as baby boomers start a mass transfer of trillions of pounds of housing equity to their children.
Love to see this. This government’s reputation is already in the dumps. Going after the rich and the baby boomers won’t hurt their polling numbers any longer. Better to tax the richest of them to oblivion so we don’t carry on with this gerontocracy. I wouldn’t even mind a discussion around May’s dementia tax.

I hope to see significant tax raised on legal cannabis sales! 🙂

So Labour are speed running economic collapse because they refuse to cut free money. At this rate if you work you are a mug.
Suddenly feel some anxiety and long covid coming on..

JFC Rachel, tax the rich already.
This is exactly the kind of shit that will hand Parliament to Reform in 4 years time.

Oh good we’re in for a couple of months like last summer of this sub going crazy over budget rumours.

All this panic over future debt misses the point.. The UK can’t run out of money but it can run out of care, infrastructure and working public services..
The real limit isn’t debt it’s inflation and how well we use our resources.. The danger isn’t borrowing too much, it’s pretending we can’t afford what people actually need..

Just hit the middles more then, without realising that there’s nothing left to give.
We already have lowering living standards and taxing people more will just drive more people to say ‘stuff it’ and claim UC rather than pay ever increasing taxes.

I can’t wait to get hammered yet again with frozen tax bands because I earn enough for nobody to feel sorry for me but not enough to actually live how people assume I should be living for what I earn.
People need to wake up and realise anyone on £250k or less is a worker and anyone beyond that should be the ones getting hammered.
I don’t even particularly want more. I’m happy for the poorest to benefit the most from any policy changes, as long as the richest are paying for it. The amount of tax I pay is eye watering for what I receive in return.

Updating council tax values would net massive amounts from London & the south east.

Why are people defending Labour and Reeves? The sort of tax rises she’s talking about are just going to make life for the 90% harder still. What is wrong some innovation? Perhaps legalise cannabis and cocaine and tax them. Or how about a land value tax?

Labour are such a pathetic party, I regret voting them in.
They want to act like the adult in the rooms, having to cut what is clearly unaffordable costs to the public, to continue propping up the unemployed, the pensioners and the wealthy on the backs of the actual middle class workforce.
I hate reform, but they’ll have my next vote out of spite as there won’t be a country or future for us in 20 years if we continue raiding the workers in the country and our future.

Labour borrowing and taxing, whilst unemployment goes up and the economy tanks. I am so surprised.

I’m pretty pissed off at the back benches and will be complaining to my MP if they raise taxes;
Do manifesto pledges mean nothing these days?

I’d love it if for once in my life the government did something about taxes that actually benefited me in a personal level.
I swear I’ve just successfully fucked at every opportunity.
I’m not against taxes, but does it always have to squeeze the middle PAYE earners every fucking time?

Time to fucking leave. Until they’re prepared to cut the fat there’s no sense in any hard working person (blue collar or white) staying in this cesspit of handouts. Votes are now insufficient so the only option is to withdraw labour and fertility and look for pastures new until this nonsense blows over.
